Potential munitions plant in or near Okanogan County

The Washington State Community Economic Revitalization Board (CERB) approved grants and low interest loan funding for four projects. Okanogan County was the location for one of those projects.

Okanogan County – $50,000 grant to the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation for the “Colville Tribes Munitions Manufacturing Feasibility Study.” This project consists of a strategic plan to locate a munitions manufacturing plant within or near the Colville Indian Reservation. CERB funds are matched by $16,667 in local resources.

Having some more manufacturing industry in Okanogan County is likely a good thing, providing additional stable employment.
